The Chamber sets the theme for the parade each year, prepares the Events Calendar and organizes the parade.

Registration - Registrations must be submitted by Thursday, June 27th.

4th of July Parade Theme: to Honor US Coast Guard

CDR Ward SandlinThe Board of Directors of the Greater Sitka Chamber of Commerce have chosen Sitka's US Coast Guard as our theme for this years 4th of July Parade. The parade will begin at 2pm on Thursday, July 4th and will start on Lake Street and proceed down Lincoln Street toward City Hall. Registration is required to participate in the parade and forms can be picked up at the Greater Sitka Chamber of Commerce office upstairs in the Troute Center, 329 Harbor Suite 212, or on the Chamber's website.

The Grand Marshall for this year’s 4th of July parade is CDR Ward Sandlin (right) with the United States Coast Guard. CDR Sandlin reported aboard Air Station Sitka as the Commanding Officer in April 2012.

Thursday, July 4th

9:00am Visitor’s Shuttle (on/off bus) will run from 9am to 3:30pm. The shuttle stops at eight locations around Sitka including Totem Park and the Raptor Center. Departs on the half hour from O’Connell Bridge tendering dock. $10/pass.

10:00am Naa Kahidi Dancers will perform at the Naa Kahidi House. Admission 4th of July Special is just $5 with a Sitka driver’s license.  Regular admission is $10/kids 12 and under free with paying adult.

12:00pm Barn Dance. A free community barn dance will be held at the Crescent Harbor Shelter. Live music will be provided by Sitka’s Fishing for Cats band.

Due to construction in the area, the 4th of July water fight between the U.S.C.G. and the Sitka Fire Dept. has changed locations this year.  It will be held in front of City Hall, at 100 Lincoln Street, instead of in front of the Russian Bishop's House.
Parking will be closed in front of city hall and the Lincoln Street side of Totem Square directly after the parade.  Residents are asked not to park in this area between 3:00 and 5:00 PM.

4:00pm Rotary Duck Race – $10 per duck.  Ducks will be released at 4pm into Granite Creek and will float downstream to Halibut Point Rec area.
